Helpful Information about Challenging Contras

While all of TCD’s dances are open to anyone, several times a year when there is a 5th Friday we host dances that are more difficult and advanced. There will not be a beginner’s lesson before this dance.

This dance will assume that most dancers at the dance already know:

  • How to do basic moves like Heys, Mad Robins, Rory O’More, Pass the Ocean, and Wavy Lines

  • Where to be at the start of each dance phrase and how to recover from a lapse

  • Know how to offer flourishes and do them safely and on time without disturbing others, and know how to decline a flourish offer.

And - as with all of our dances - this dance will encourage participants to respond to confusion and missteps by others with grace, encouragement and good humor. If that describes you, then put this on your calendar!
