Complaints process
The TCD Board encourages dancers to report all violations of the code of conduct and takes seriously all incidents reported to it. A safety committee will investigate each report promptly with input from the complainant, the accused individual and any witnesses. The details of the investigative procedure will be determined by the nature of the incident. The TCD Board will retain documentation of the investigation and its determinations.
TCD will attempt to keep all information pertaining to an investigation private but cannot guarantee such confidentiality. Information about the investigation will be shared only on a need-to-know basis.
If the safety committee determines that there was a violation of the code of conduct, the TCD Board will then determine an appropriate course of action. That action may range from a warning to a suspension or a permanent ban from all TCD events. When possible, warnings and opportunities for improvement will be offered before stronger measures are used. If disciplinary action is required, all involved parties will be notified. If deemed necessary, the TCD Board may also share its findings with the organizers of other dances, the proper local authorities, or other members of the dance community who need that information.
